I just finished playing “Enslaved: Odyssey to the West”. This is a Playstation 3 game developed by Ninja Theory. The story is a re-imagining of the ancient Chinese story Journey to the West by Wu Cheng’en, a classic Chinese novel. The game itself takes place in the future, a post apocalyptic America.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this game. Ninja Theory has a way of telling stories in games to the point where I can ignore minor game play issues. I said the same thing from the, not so perfect, Heavenly Sword game. Heavenly Sword’s voice acting, animation, and story were all off the charts and I feel the same way about Enslaved. Heavenly sword did have better animations and voice acting but Enslaved had a better story and game play. I loved both. Ninja Theory is quickly becoming a favorite developer of mine. The kind of developer that can make me purchase a game without seeing a single trailer or review. Included on that short list is Valve and Bioware (At one time, Blizzard but that’s another post entirely).

Not going to say anything specific about the game or the story but if you find it out there, pick it up. You won’t be disappointed. I found it new for $20, it’s easily worth full price.
